The new target of the best agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is artificial intelligence. This enemy is everywhere and nowhere, he is self-taught and invulnerable, besides, he can substitute everything in such a way as to set up allies against each other. Named Entity, he gained intelligence and penetrated the global networks of military defense, intelligence service and finance. Elite agents from different countries are fighting for possession of two halves of a cruciform key capable of controlling this superintelligence. Ethan Hunt needs to team up with his brilliant team, Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg) and Luther Stickell (Wing Rhames), in order to seize the key before the others and destroy the dangerous AI. For the success of the operation, he needs to negotiate with an old friend Ilse Faust (Rebecca Ferguson) and lure a sudden obstacle to his side — a professional thief Grace (Hayley Atwell). That's just not so easy when the cards are constantly confused by the AI two steps ahead of you and other opponents. Will Hunt have time to destroy the formidable weapons of the new generation before they fall into the wrong hands?
