The plot is about the history of high school student Light Turner, whose hands get a supernatural notebook, the owner of which can kill any person known to him, simply inscribing the name of the victim in it, as well as the causes and circumstances of death. Intoxicated by his new godlike abilities, Light begins to kill everyone who, in his opinion, has no right to live.
