Criminal Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro) has earned recognition as one of the best in Los Angeles and maybe in the entire United States. Working with Neil is considered an honor by the pros of the criminal world, and his own motto is not to get attached to anyone. His life is a constant game with fate. At one point, police officer Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino), who also won the title of the best of the best, comes on the trail of Neil.
