Before the death of newspaper magnate Charles Foster Kane said only two words "rosebud," the dropping of the hands of the crystal ball. These mysterious words do not give rest to many people and they charge a young journalist Thompson to conduct an investigation, during which he must figure out the meaning of the phrase. So a reporter is immersed in the past well-known tycoon, met with people close to him and those who knew the deceased. During the investigation, Thompson learns about what kind of person Kane was in fact, his numerous novels, and also about how he earned his fortune.
