Story taking place in a post-apocalyptic future, where a despotic state, located on the ruins of North America, held annually Hunger Games. From each of the twelve districts are selected by lot one boys and girls from 12 to 18 years, who will take part in the Hunger Games. Participants will compete with each other for survival, is alive there will be only one winner, who will receive fame and fortune. 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take part in the Hunger Games, in order to save her younger sister.
