The plot of the film is based on real events that took place in 1958, then only two out of fifteen dogs survived. It's hard not to empathize with the protagonist and his dogs. The final scene is generally overwhelmed with emotions that cannot be resisted.
The plot of the film takes place in the vast expanses of Antarctica. The Antarctic expedition team stopped at one station. University professor Davis and teamster Jerry go dog sledding in search of meteorite debris. Having successfully driven, on the way back the professor breaks his leg and falls into the water. And the teamster got severe frostbite. Due to a strong storm and bad weather conditions, the team had to evacuate and leave the station. Since there were no places for eight dogs in the helicopter, the animals on a leash were left waiting for the people to return for them...
