The third season of 24 episodes was shown on September 19, 1991. The show's creators, Matt Groening, James L. Brooks and Sam Simon gave up their position as executive producers to Al Gean and Mike Reiss.
The plot of the animated series revolves around an American family living in the fictional city of Springfield.
Groening specifically painted them yellow to highlight.
In the third season of the Simpsons, the guest stars were the band "Aerosmith", as well as Michael Jackson, Sting, and Danny DeVito.
