The film takes place during the First World War. Paul Bäumer is a young guy who was sitting at a school desk yesterday, and today he went to the front as a volunteer. He made this choice largely thanks to his teacher, who urged the children to defend their homeland. However, his patriotic dreams are immediately shattered by the harsh reality. Every day he is on the verge of death under the endless roar of guns, seeing the death of his fellow soldiers. But he will not escape from this hell, because he simply has to fight to the very end...
