Dances with Wolves / Танцующий с волками (1990)

The film is set in the United States during the Civil War. After being wounded in combat, U.S. Army Lieutenant John Dunbar asks to be transferred to a new duty station closer to the U.S. western border. His duty station is a remote small fort. Dunbar's traveling companion is killed in a skirmish with Indians, and the direct commander has committed suicide. Dunbar doesn't know this, and he waits day by day for news. But people who know that Dunbar is left alone at the fort and must survive the harsh environment and the neighborhood of the seemingly inhospitable Native North Americans are simply not left.
